Note From RoryVolume 1, Issue 3 Dear Reader, Well, it's been a crazy few weeks here in "Truth" central. My youngest child (7 months old) is learning to scream. Do you remember those days? There is clearly nothing wrong with him - just that he is learning to use his voice, and he seems to be enjoying it a little more than the rest of us are. LOL But, he's hard to resist and captures our attention all the time! He is getting into things more and more each and every day, and it's so exciting to watch him discover the world around him. There is something very rewarding about seeing someone first experience I take for granted all the time. Aside from that, work is keeping us busy here. I am excited to share a lot of upcoming interviews and events with you over the next several months. I hope you'll continue to join me. Here's Gavin (not screaming ) ![]() Rory Stern, PsyD http://www.theADHDparentsmovie.com PS - I am being interviewed on April 8th at 9 PM EST. For more information, visit here! |

ADHD
Exists And It Is Here To Stay! Despite all the recent studies and information published, many people still don't believe that ADHD exists. Many people still question whether ADHD is a real medical condition or if it is simply the latest fad created by the pharmaceutical companies to make billions of dollars. To a large extent, I can understand the skepticism. I really can. ADHD has become very popular in our world - and is portrayed very negatively in the media (at least in the USA). But what drives me crazy is the fact that so many people - without any personal experience whatsoever - will argue adamantly that ADHD just simply does not exist.
These are all myths, and they destroy the hope and support needed to get through each day. For those of you who have been touched by ADHD, you know all too well how real ADHD is and what it takes to balance your needs and the needs of your child. To be honest with you, the real purpose behind today's article is NOT so much about the naysayers or the conspiracy theorists. Today's tip is really about support and how YOU deserve better! As a parent, you deserve understanding. You deserve support, and compassion when trying to manage everything you do. And all those people who ridicule you, you know - the ones who make you feel horrible about the life you live and the choices you make for your child - well they DON'T GET IT! And in all likelihood, they might never get it. Combat the naysayers and conspiracy theorists:
